A walk in the park | Celebrating 18 months!

My first session of 2017 was with a sweet family I worked with at the end of last summer! Baby Evie has grown so much since she turned one, and her parents wanted to document this 18 month milestone with some fresh family photos.

We settled on the Jewell Wetlands Park in Aurora - something we considered for our first session, but decided ultimately to go somewhere else.

I'm so glad we came! Even though the day of our session was cloudy, the park had beautiful tones and rich colors that perfectly captured a February day in Colorado.

Evie was so full of love during this session (even though she wasn't totally sure about me at first - she kept saying "All done!" and signing to tell everyone she was done with me!).

As we planned for the session, Kate knew she wanted to remember the moments of reading books together, so she brought along a wagon with a comfy blanket and some favorite books.

And I couldn't resist capturing her sweet profile. I feel like I blinked and my 18 month old son is all-of-a-sudden turning FOUR YEARS OLD this year... which is why I document the details that were so precious about my own children for my clients. The way her hair curls at the nape of her neck. Her little moccasins. Her unique self-soothing gestures.

Do you see that stuffed animal? That's Wolfie. Evie's beloved companion, who got the biggest hugs and kisses. Put all of the heart eyes right here.

And this moment captured. One of my all time favorites.

Finally, we walked out of the park, and what I loved most was seeing Evie's connection to her best bud - her dog Gilly. Can you tell in these pictures that she's calling out Gilly's name?

(Also: major props to mom + dad for bringing the wagon... it was a huge hit! Look at that smile!)

So wonderful to see you again, Evie + family!
